Associate, Box Office (Part-Time)
Reports To: Box Office Manager
Location: On-site in New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA
Salary Range: $21.63 - $24.04/hour

- Box office operates Wed-Sat from 12-6pm plus additional hours during shows and other events. This position primarily covers our show night preparations and operating hours, typically occurring between 5pm-9pm.

Position Summary
The Box Office Associate will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the box office and serves as a key contributor to delivering excellent, consistent, and accessible patron experiences. Working with the direction of the Box Office Manager and with the support of the Box Office Coordinator, this role handles daily ticketing operations and customer service. The Box Office Associate follows established policies, including appropriate cash handling protocol, and may step in to complete small event-related tasks as needed. This role plays a key part in advancing our mission and contributes to a supportive, inclusive, and imaginative work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operating the box office, including opening/closing duties, ticket sales (in-person and by phone), order fulfillment, and show-night service delivery
Answering patron inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing accessible and welcoming customer service
Supporting accurate cash handling, reporting, and daily reconciliation during assigned shifts
Proficient use of the Z’s ticketing and software systems and pursuing ongoing professional development in this area in response to organizational needs.

Qualifications
Required
Welcoming and knowledgeable customer service/patron engagement
Attention to detail and follow-through
Clear communication skills
Proficiency in cash handling and reconciliation
Commitment to accessible and equitable service delivery
Preferred
Prior customer service and cash handling experience
Bi-lingual applicants with Spanish, Creole, Portuguese and ASL proficiency
